Today we ate at the Dutch Kitchen, which is located on Route 61 in Frackville. Bryan ordered the “Jack’s Choice” item which included 2 pancakes, 2 eggs any-style (scrambled), and two pieces of bacon. Mike ordered the creamed chip-beef over toast, and Matt ordered the sausage-egg-and-cheese croissant breakfast sandwich.
Establishment: 4/5 – We sat in the diner section which was old and had dim lighting. The best part about this restaurant may be the jukeboxes on each table. You can pay 50 cents for 1 song or $1.00 for 3. This was very unique and gave the restaurant an old-school feel.
Service: 5/5 – Our waitress was very nice and asked if we needed coffee refills multiple times. It took 9 minutes from the time we ordered until we received our food.
Appearance: 2/5 – Food looked decent but the plates were rather small.
Taste: 4/5 – The “Jack’s Choice” platter was good, not great. The pancakes were very good but the bacon was cold. Croissant sandwich was good as well. Would definitely recommend the creamed chip-beef…delicious and filling.
Price: 4/5 – The price was relatively cheap. It’s diner food so you can’t go wrong here.
The Dutch Kitchen is another place you can go if you want a quick and cheap breakfast. The jukeboxes made it stand out over other establishments. There were far more options on the menu here than the Pottsville Diner last week. If I had to compare the two, I’d give the Dutch Kitchen a slight nod.
