Steve & Mary’s is a local breakfast-and-lunch-only restaurant on Sunbury Street in Minersville. Bryan and Matt were the only two who made the trip this morning. Bryan ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Matt ordered two scrambled eggs, homefries and sausage.
Establishment: 2/5 – We gave this a below-average grade because of the lack of parking. Sunbury Street can be very busy and finding a spot near the restaurant was tricky for us this morning. The restaurant itself isn’t the nicest, but it has an older charm to it. It felt like we were eating in someone’s grandmother’s house. There is a lot of seating – more than we expected coming in.

Service: 5/5 – Our waitress was very friendly and had a charming European accent. She consistently refilled our coffee. It only took 5-minutes to receive our food so they were very fast.
Appearance: 3/5 – As you can see in the picture, the food was plentiful. They definitely used more than two eggs in the meals – which is a good thing! The only downside is their coffee mugs are way too small. It was like taking shots of espresso. Our waitress had to refill them multiple times.

Taste: 4/5 – Very good food all around. Matt pointed out that the coffee was one of the best he’s had so far. The restaurant grinds their own coffee beans which could explain it’s strong, robust flavor. It’s too bad the mugs were so darn small! Bryan enjoyed the Corned Beef Hash and thought it was very filling. Both were not that impressed with the toast and thought it was a little chewy.
Price: 5/5 – When it comes to price, you cannot go wrong with Steve & Mary’s. You get a boatload of food for a cheap price. Out of the four places we visited so far, this was probably the second-cheapest, right behind the Pottsville Diner.
The biggest knock would have to be the lack of parking. If we lived within walking distance to Steve & Mary’s, we’d come here all the time. It is a nice place to sit back, relax, and enjoy coffee & breakfast in a quiet atmosphere. You cannot beat the price, especially with the amount of food you receive. Another trip to Steve & Mary’s is inevitable.
