The crew took a scenic drive up the Burma Road this morning to the Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville. We had two things on our mind: breakfast and Bloody Mary’s. As soon as Mountain Valley won our online Facebook poll, we were excited to check out their advertised “Bloody Mary Bar”. You can imagine our disappointment when we found out they no longer run this special. Our waitress told us that they only had it open during the summer months. As you can see from the picture of the menu below, they still have the Bloody Mary Bar advertised, and it is also on their Facebook page and website. False advertisement on their part!
We weren’t completely devastated since we were still able to order Bloody Mary’s; we just couldn’t make them ourselves. As far as breakfast goes, Bryan decided to order today’s special, which was “Pumpkin Cheesecake French Toast”. This was basically cream cheese induced French Toast with a pumpkin puree topping. Matt ordered “The Skillet”, which is three eggs scrambled with diced sausage, onions, cottage cheese and cheddar cheese, baked till golden and topped with hashbrowns. Mike went with the “Breakfast Burrito”, which is eggs, ham, green peppers, onion and cheese wrapped in a soft tortilla and grilled. The Mighty Tonto ended up ordering “The Eagle”, which is an omelette with eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, tomato and cheese. Bryan and Tonto also ordered a side of “Tumblers”, which are shredded potato balls filled with cheese then deep fried. If you weren’t hungry before, I bet you are now!
Establishment: 5/5 (Hole-in-One) – Plenty of parking and seating inside the restaurant. We arrived at 8:30am and were literally the only customers there. A few others arrived later, but business was not particularly booming this morning. This surprised us considering it was such a beautiful day to go golfing.

Service: 3/5 (Par) – Service was good. The staff used a tag-team approach, sending us multiple waitresses throughout our meal. Our waitresses were nice but they did not mention the specials. We had to rely on our pregame scouting report (Mountain Valley’s Facebook page) to find out about their special-of-the-day. It was a 17-minute wait from the time we ordered until we received our food.
Appearance: 5/5 (Hole-in-One) – Yeah, this was arguably the best-looking breakfast we’ve had. Just look at these pictures and try not to drool on your keyboard.
Taste: 5/5 (Hole-in-One) – It tastes how it looks. Everything was hot and fresh. Bryan’s French Toast was delicious. It had just enough pumpkin flavor to not make it overpowering. The peppers and onions used in the Skillet and Burrito were grilled. Our homefries were diced red potatoes that were soft and cooked perfectly. The “Tumblers” were a unique addition to the menu. They were very tasty. Everything we had surpassed our expectations coming in.
Price: 3/5 (Par) – As you can see from the menu, their prices aren’t bad. You get a ton of food for a relatively cheap price!

Bloody Mary: 3/5 (Par) – Not the best Bloody Mary we’ve had, but definitely not the worst. It wasn’t that spicy and you couldn’t taste any alcohol. It would’ve been nice if they had their Bloody Mary Bar open as advertised, but we were just thrilled to finally eat at a restaurant that serves them!

The Mountain Valley Golf Course Restaurant only serves their breakfast on Sundays from 8AM-Noon. This place shouldn’t be overlooked when you are searching for an enjoyable breakfast. The portions are huge and the food leaves you satisfied. The fact that they serve Bloody Mary’s is also a plus for our crew! We certainly enjoyed our breakfast here and thought it rated very high on our list. Matt even dressed the part today – take a look at him sporting his Mountain Valley polo! Very dapper!
