The gang is back together! We had a full crew this morning for our trip to Deb’s Restaurant in Friedensburg. This is a little known place that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We arrived a little before 9 a.m. to a decent crowd that included a local celebrity, Dick Yuengling. Maybe he is a fan of Breakfast in the Skook and knew we were coming to Deb’s today?
Deb’s has a reasonably sized breakfast menu that included smaller plate options. Bryan ordered two slices of French Toast with a side of sausage links. Matt chose the bacon, eggs (scrambled), and homefries special for $6.95. You read that correctly, the Sausage King did not order sausage today! Mike ordered the “Egg Sampler”, which consisted of two eggs, two pieces of bacon, one piece of sausage (he chose the smoked sausage), and one piece of ham with homefries. Kevin went with his reliable mushroom and cheese omelette while The Mighty Tonto ordered the chipped beef over toast with homefries special.

Establishment: 5/5 – Interesting little restaurant that goes unrecognized on Long Run Road. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the restaurant. The interior is very nice and has plenty of tables and booths that accommodates many guests. We were pleasantly surprised by how fancy and clean this place was.
Service: 5/5 – Our waitress was very friendly and frequently checked on us during our meal. She also provided us with coffee refills consistently. It took 18-minutes to receive our food from the time we ordered.
Appearance: 5/5 – Another perfect score! Our food came out piping hot and everything looked absolutely amazing…see for yourself!
Taste: 5/5 – It tasted as good as it looked! Everything was extremely fresh and homemade (besides the sausage links which were the Brown & Serve frozen type). Matt and Mike both complimented the freshly cut homefries. The smoked sausage Mike ordered was very good and so was the bacon. Kevin’s omelette was filled with cheese and the mushrooms were large and fresh. Bryan and Tonto also thought the coffee tasted delicious. It was just an all around fantastic meal.

Price: 3.5/5 – The price wasn’t too bad because you get more than what you pay for. Our bill totaled $49.50 for the five of us. This is a cash-only establishment, which forced us to deduct a couple of points. It was well worth it, though.
Deb’s Restaurant in Friedensburg exceeded our expectations. As a whole, our crew enjoyed it more than our time at the Friedensburg Country Restaurant, which gets more publicity if you will. We definitely want to return to Deb’s at some point, whether its for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Hey, maybe Dick Yuengling can be our special guest next time?
