The McKeansburg Hotel was the site of our 40th breakfast destination this morning. Matt had to work, so our crew consisted of Bryan, Mike, Kevin and Tonto. We invited our special guest who won our Facebook fan vote, but he did not show up. He let down the 100+ fans who voted for him. Rumor has it, he sprained his liver during the Lager Jogger yesterday. Oh well, the show must go on!

We arrived at the McKeansburg Hotel around 8:15 a.m. and it was pretty busy. Their breakfast menu, which is only served once a week, isn’t very large but it does have variety. It includes twelve different meal options which you can view in the picture below.

Bryan ordered the #12 (Breakfast Quesadilla). The quesadilla was composed of eggs, cheese, tomato, and a choice of meat (he chose sausage) stuffed in a flour tortilla. Mike went with the #5 (Eggs Benedict), which was a grilled split English muffin with Canadian bacon, poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. Kevin changed things up today and ordered the #6 (Crabby Omelette), which consisted of three eggs and crabmeat, topped with Hollandaise sauce and Old Bay seasoning. The Mighty Tonto chose the #1 (Cheesesteak Omelette), which was a three egg omelette filled with steak meat and American cheese, topped with marinara sauce. The omelettes and Eggs Benedict were all served with homefries and toast.

Establishment: 5/5 – Neat restaurant/bar that is very clean. Inside, there are two dining rooms that include 10 tables. There is also a bar area with table seating available. When the weather permits, you can even sit outside on their covered porch area. It was a little too chilly this morning for that, though.

Service: 4/5 – Waitress was very friendly and sociable. She left the coffee carafe at our table so we can refill our own. There was a longer-than-average wait time for our food of 32-minutes. They were pretty busy this morning, the other customers must have known we were coming! Our special guest wasn’t there, though…

Appearance: 5/5 – Just take a look at the size of our meals! They came out HOT with each weighing what seemed like ten pounds. I put the pictures of Kevin’s Crabby Omelette side-by-side so you can get a good look at the amount of crab meat that was inside. Bryan, Kevin and Tonto all had to take home what they couldn’t finish. Mike was the only one who finished with a happy plate.

Taste: 5/5 – Absolutely delicious. Kevin said it was the best-tasting breakfast he’s had since he started coming out with us. Tonto’s omelette included real steak meat and was very good. Bryan gushed over his hefty Breakfast Quesadilla. The homefries were almost like French Fries and had a unique taste to them. Very good meal.

Price: 2.5/5 – The prices were a little more expensive than average, but it was well worth it in the end! Our bill totaled $48 for the four of us.

All in all, the McKeansburg Hotel provided us with a very good breakfast. It is a nice restaurant that serves very large and very delicious homecooked food. It was definitely worth the wait and price. You get more than what you pay for here! Our one complaint is that they only serve breakfast on Sundays…it should be every day!
