Traci’s Place is a breakfast-lunch only eating establishment located at 2200 East Main Street in Sacramento — only a few miles past Valley View. We’ve been getting some recommendations for Traci’s Place, both on our Facebook page and through email, so our crew of Bryan, Mike and Tonto decided to see what all the fuss was about.
We arrived at Traci’s Place around 9:00 a.m. and the small-scale restaurant was pretty full. We took a seat at one of their booths and peeked at their breakfast menu. The menu had plenty of your normal breakfast staples with some unique items sprinkled in. They were featuring several specials today, but our trio decided to sample their everyday items instead. Bryan ended up ordering the S.O.S., which of course consists of creamed chipped beef over toast with homefries. Mike decided to go with the “Stromboli Omelette”, which is an egg omelette stuffed with sliced ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, onions, peppers, mushrooms and their own tomato sauce. Tonto, who had a big appetite this morning, ordered the “Spring Glen Grand Slam”, which consists of two eggs (over-easy) and two pancakes served with bacon and sausage links. Both Mike’s and Tonto’s meals were served with their homemade toast.
Establishment: 4/5 – Neat little restaurant that had a log cabin feel to it. The interior was very clean and included a bar counter with 4 seats. It also offered five booths and 7-8 tables; it was pretty small. The decorations included some antlers on the walls and stuffed ducks hanging from the ceiling. There is ample parking here.

Service: 5/5 – Our waitress and hostess frequently checked on us before and during our meal — they were both very nice. It took us 23-minutes to receive our food, which isn’t too bad.
Appearance: 5/5 – Wow! Take a look at our meals! There was plenty of food on our plates — even Tonto’s. His plate was more like a serving platter. All three of our meals were served with a little slice of watermelon which we thought was a nice touch.
Taste: 4/5 – Very good! Bryan really loved his S.O.S. You can tell the homefries were freshly cut and they tasted delicious. Mike really liked his Stromboli omelette and Tonto loved his breakfast spread. The pancakes that came with Tonto’s meal were thin, but tasted scrumptious. The sausage links were the Brown n’ Serve ones that we’ve come accustomed to having…still delicious. As for their homemade toast — while delicious –both Mike and Tonto had a slight preference for Red Lion’s last week.
Price: 2.5/5 – The price was very similar to last week at Red Lion. Our bill totaled $32 for the three of us — just a bit above average. Still, you get a ton of food for the price so you won’t hear any complaints coming from us.
So, to wrap things up, we highly recommend that you check out this little-known gem in the heart of the Valley View countryside. The reason why we run this blog is to find neat little places like this! The ride only took us a little over 30-minutes from Pottsville, so it was hardly a cross-country trip. They are open from 6 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 5 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays; they’re closed Sundays.
