The East Norwegian Township Fire Company, located on Sunshine Street in Diener’s Hill, Saint Clair, held its monthly breakfast buffet this morning. The Breakfast in the Skook crew were there to check it out!
Today’s crew consisted of Bryan, Mike and Tonto. Matt bowed out once again. We arrived around 8:30 a.m. and the establishment was pretty dead. We took a seat at a table near the coffee and headed straight towards the buffet. The buffet here has a wide variety of items that include: scrambled eggs, bacon, two different types of sausage, homefries, ham, pancakes, French Toast, waffles, cream chipped beef, sausage gravy, toast, and fresh fruit. Drinks that were included consisted of coffee, hot tea, water, orange juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk and tomato juice.

Establishment: 5/5 – The fire hall was pretty big and had plenty of parking outside. The interior was spacious and included a decent amount of pop-up tables. Everything looked and seemed very clean.
Service: 5/5 – Obviously this is a self-serve buffet so service wasn’t required. There were volunteers that took dirty dishes and mugs, etc. A lady worked the table at the entrance way where you paid.
Appearance: 3/5 – The food didn’t look bad. Everything was fresh and hot. The eggs didn’t seem to be sitting for long in the crockpot, which is a good thing. We used paper plates for our food.
Taste: 3/5 – Again, it was about average. It is very comparable to the Immaculate Conception buffet down the hill. The price is one-dollar more, but there are a few more items here at the fire company.
Price: 5/5 – $8 for an all-you-can-eat buffet is not too shabby!
The breakfast buffet at the East Norwegian Fire Company is not a bad option if you’re interested in all-you-can-eat buffets. The $8 entrance fee is a bargain for the amount of food you could shove down your throat in one sitting here. The money goes towards a good cause, too. We recommend you check it out next month when they serve it again on October 21. They serve their breakfast buffets every third Sunday of the month from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
