Earlier this week we heard the news that Anne’s Bakery in Branchdale will be closing its doors at the end of the year. This saddened us because Anne’s was one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. We knew that we needed to get back to Anne’s one more time before they shut down for good; we also knew that we needed to order what could be our favorite breakfast meal in the county: Anne’s Stuffed French Toast.
Our last visit to Anne’s Bakery just happened to be exactly one year ago to the day. Here is our full review from that breakfast: Anne’s Bakery – 11/25/17.
Today’s crew (Bryan, Matt, Mike and Tonto) all set out to enjoy breakfast at Anne’s for what could be the final time. Bryan, Mike and Tonto all ordered the Stuffed French Toast while Matt ordered a bacon, egg and cheese omelette topped with creamed chipped beef.
Everything was amazing. The service was impeccable – we had two servers consistently ask us if we needed more coffee. The Stuffed French Toast? Delectable! Three slices of French Toast with cream cheese and bacon in between each slice. Bryan and Mike both ordered sides (homefries and sausage) and split them. It was just enough food to fill them up. They enjoyed every last morsel of one of their favorite breakfast meals in Schuylkill county.
We don’t know exactly when Anne’s will be closing its doors, but boy will we be sad when it happens. If you’ve never been here before, we urge you to check it out before it’s too late! They are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. We wish Ms. Anne good luck in her retirement!
