The Frackville Elks Lodge held their Sunday breakfast this morning and Breakfast in the Skook was there to sample it! Today’s crew consisted of Bryan, Matt, Mike and The Mighty Tonto.
We arrived at the Frackville Elks around 8:30 a.m. They already had a nice crowd on hand and it continued to grow while we were there. As you can see by the menu, they offer eggs (made-to-order), sausage (two different types), ham, scrapple, mackerel, homefries, cream chipped beef, French Toast, pancakes, toast, coffee, and juice. Bacon is included for an additional $1. You can choose any combination from the menu and they will deliver your meals to your table.

Bryan and Tonto both ordered eggs (Bryan = scrambled, Tonto = over-easy), bacon, sausage, scrapple and homefries. Matt’s order was similar, but he went with French Toast instead of scrapple. Mike ordered over-easy eggs, bacon, sausage and homefries. Both he and Tonto also ordered a side of mackerel.
Establishment: 5/5 – Very large building with plenty of tables and seats inside. Everything looked very clean and well decorated. The outside parking lot was also large.

Service: 5/5 – Our waitress made it known that this was her first day on the job and was nervous. She ended up doing a fantastic job! We only had to wait 12-minutes to get our food and everything came out hot. As far as coffee goes, we got to serve ourselves from the coffee station that’s located near the entrance to the building.
Appearance: 5/5 – As you can probably tell by the pictures, we were served an excessive amount of food. Homefries were literally falling off of Matt’s plate. Like I stated above, our food came out hot. The only complaint might be the small styrofoam coffee cups, but since we got to serve ourselves, this didn’t cause too much of an inconvenience.
Taste: 3.5/5 – Pretty good. We all thought the sausages were very good and the eggs were well-cooked. Tonto loved the bacon but Bryan and Mike both thought it was a little too crispy for their liking. Matt gave the French Toast a 3/5 score. The coffee was hit or miss; Tonto and Matt thought it was too watery. The homefries were potatoes cut into cubes with a nice seasoning on them. We thought they were pretty good! Mike and Tonto both liked the mackerel. It was only one little piece but you could order as much as you’d like.

Price: 4.5/5 – $8 per person with an additional $1 if you want bacon. You can get as much food as you want plus the price includes coffee, juices and other drinks. We thought it was a good deal!

All in all, we were very pleased with the Frackville Elks’ breakfast. You get a ton of food for a reasonable price. Too bad they are only open for three hours – we could stay here all day! If you are in the Frackville area and haven’t been here yet – you need to check it out!
